Why do corners often crack during the spraying of stone-like paint?

Analysis:In the spraying of stone-like paint, corners are positions that are prone to multiple spray applications, including the recesses of Roman columns and other hard-to-reach areas. These positions are likely to cause repeated spraying, resulting in a relatively thick paint film. During the vitrification and drying process, the paint film will shrink to some extent. When the thickness of the paint film is high, the difference in shrinkage between the surface and the inner layer is significant, leading to cracking issues.
Construction Plan:To avoid such problems during the spraying of stone-like paint, the following two methods can be used: (1) Masking, to cover areas that do not need to be sprayed, preventing repeated spraying in that area; (2) Pre-spraying, applying thin coats multiple times, for hard-to-spray areas, perform a preliminary thin spray before large-scale construction, and then apply a suitable thin spray when working in that area later.

Why does bubbling and peeling occur after the application of stone-like paint?

This type of problem can be analyzed in two situations, whether there is powdering on the back of the paint film:
(1) Paint film has powdering.
Analysis:A. Insufficient strength of the putty layer. During the vitrification and drying process of stone-like paint, it will shrink to some extent, and since the paint film has high flexibility, if the strength of the putty layer is insufficient, it is easy to cause delamination, especially at the position of the dividing line; B. If the dividing line tape is removed too late, it will cause the paint film to crack, and the paint film will not bond with the substrate. After being soaked by rainwater, bubbling and delamination will occur.
Construction Plan:A. Selection of putty powder materials, using putty powder that meets the national standard JC/T157-2009 "Putty for Exterior Wall Construction" P-type putty powder; B. Remove the dividing line tape within 30 minutes after the middle coat construction; C. After grinding the putty powder, it must be adequately cured with water to fully solidify the cement component in the exterior wall putty powder, increasing the strength of the putty.
(2) Paint film has no powdering.
Analysis:Insufficient construction environment leads to insufficient solid content in the paint film or inability to vitrify. A. If the temperature is too low, the paint film cannot vitrify, forming effective bonding. This situation is often accompanied by cracking issues. B. If the humidity is too high, it is most often reflected in the fact that the paint film has not dried and encounters rainwater. The rainwater will wash the wall surface, and the areas that have not formed a film will be directly washed away by the rainwater; for the areas that have formed a film, rainwater will penetrate the paint film, taking away a large amount of solid content, leading to a decrease in the bonding strength of the paint film, and a large amount of moisture will accumulate between the paint film and the putty layer, resulting in bubbling and hollowing, which in turn leads to cracking and delamination. This type of paint disease is most common in horizontal surfaces such as window sills and eaves, where water tends to accumulate.
Plan:A. The temperature for the paint to vitrify and form a film must be above 5°C (except for special coatings). The construction environment temperature must be controlled above 5°C. For areas with low temperatures, attention should be paid to cooling time periods during construction; B. The weather conditions during construction should be monitored regularly.
