The spray gun is a device that uses liquid or compressed air to release power quickly, and most water-based colorful coatings use spray guns for spraying.
During the construction process, improper use of the spray gun can easily lead to uneven distribution of the coating. Let's take a look at the solutions.

Adjusting the spray gun
Generally, the nozzle diameter for water-based coatings can be set around 3.0, while for water-based sand coatings, it can be set to 3.5-4.0.
Gun distance control
If the distance between the spray gun nozzle and the construction wall is too small, the spraying pressure will be very high, and the amount of coating applied per unit area will increase. Under the impact of air pressure, the coating will spread to the surrounding area, resulting in a thinner layer directly at the nozzle position compared to the surrounding area, leading to uneven coating and an overall excessive thickness problem.
Conversely, when the gun distance is too large, the spraying pressure will decrease, making it difficult for the coating to adhere to the wall, resulting in insufficient coating on the wall.
The optimal spraying distance should generally be controlled at 30-40cm.

Spraying direction
During the spraying process, there are two directions involved: one is the relationship between the fan surface (the arc surface formed by the coating sprayed from the spray gun) and the direction of the building wall, which should ensure that the fan surface remains perpendicular to the building wall.
The other is the direction of the spray gun's movement (also known as the operation direction of the spray gun). When moving the spray gun, it should spray from the top of the building to the bottom, and the spray gun should always be parallel to the building wall.
When working in windy weather, pay attention to the impact of wind direction on the construction.

Spraying speed
When manually operating the spray gun, the operation should maintain a constant speed. Areas with fast speed will have too thin a coating, while areas with slow speed will have too thick a coating. Skilled workers can operate around 200 square meters per day.
When manually operating the spray gun, the spraying width should not be too large; otherwise, uneven coating will occur.
Spraying force
When holding the spray gun, gripping too tightly will affect the flexibility of the construction; if the grip is too loose, it may be affected by equipment vibrations, leading to uneven spraying.
When using spraying equipment, it is important to maintain moderate force and appropriate distance to achieve the desired coating effect.

Construction tools
Angle grinder, special spray gun, air compressor, steel spatula, scraper, wallpaper knife, putty board, masking tape, roller, oil brush, flat brush, sandpaper, etc.
After construction, some finishing tasks also need to be completed, such as cleaning up the paint and assisting tools. The leftover paint after use should be sealed and preserved, which are all important issues to pay attention to.
Main materials
908 composite putty, flexible putty for exterior walls, sealing primer, base coat, intermediate coat, top coat, etc.
